Our practice was hired by IPHAN (Brazilian autarchy comparable to Historic England) to elaborate the Cultural Inventory and Diagnosis of the Cathedral of Brasília, the iconic project of Oscar Niemeyer. The work consists in gathering and organising all knowledgeable material about this listed building and release a public study about the overall preservation state of the Cathedral, and also including pointers to safeguard its management and physical conservation. Gema had the privilege to access drawings and important historical documents related to the construction of the Cathedral. The research brought special moments to our team and the final product configures a rich material for consultation in both printed and digital formats.
