Listed House at Angélica Ave.

+-info

Located on the traditional Higienópolis neighbourhood, in São Paulo, an old house that functions as a military Police station calls great attention for its sloping roof and half-timbered facades, resembling a Swiss chalet. The majority of the houses that are still preserved on the neighbourhood are Eclectic, which makes this building even more peculiar. Our project adapts the old house to better fit its current institutional use, with delicate yet efficient interventions. The restoration revealed beautiful artistic elements that were under many layers of paint, which will come back to view after all the building work. The great challenge was to restore the building adapting the previous residential use into a public use such as a Police station.
