Classic and contemporary are not excluding concepts. This apartment project shows that it is possible to mix a sober, classic style with contemporary references, to harmoniously produce a delicate interference in the environment perception.

If, on the one hand, the original briefing led to use traditional materials like marble and furniture pieces held in high esteem by the clients, on the other hand the clients also expressed the will to merge into the design some modern elements, bringing uniqueness to the project.

Gema’s concept added new furniture elements and woodwork solutions as suspend lines, creating shelves and utilitary volumes. The project also proposed a light color composition, like gray, black and brown, with touches of blue and white. The lighting design acts as an essential component to set the contemporaneity, avoiding traditional recessed lighting and opting for tracks and spots that delimits the visual territory.
